5. PRODUCT PROCESS

The commercial plywood manufacturing process is shown here. The first four phases of commercial plywood and packing plywood are essentially the same, with the only difference being the materials used:

Step 1: Peel and cut hardwoods such as acacia and eucalyptus into acceptable lengths.

Step 2: The wood pieces are placed in the peeling machine to get the appropriate size and thickness (filler is also divided into many types: A, B, C).

Step 3: Dry the filler in the sun or using a drier. Because the environment in Vietnam is hot and humid, many factories choose for outdoor drying to conserve electricity.

Step 4: Adjust the glue or adhesive strips. Glue machines are often used by manufacturers to equally apply the glue on both sides of the filler sheet.

Step 5: This step is normally done by hand, and it determines the thickness of the sheets. In turn, thin veneers will be followed by a horizontal turn to produce solid sheets, then a vertical turn staggered until it achieves the thickness that we want.

Step 6: Cold press the sheets to shape them and bond the filler layers together.

Step 7: After cold pressing, the sheets will be transported to a hot press machine to strengthen the plank structure.

Step 8: The plywood will be sanded to smooth the surface.

Step 9: Apply glue to both sides of the sheets and glue the face before placing the sheets in the hot press.

Step 10: The last step is to cut the sheets as needed, remove any defective sheets, and box them for the customer.
